During the Cold War, Cuba was a dangerous thorn in side of the United States and their fight against communism. Operation Peter Pan was a top-secret mission to be carried out by the CIA and the Catholic Church to destabilize the Communist country. The mission’s objective: the clandestine mass exodus of over 14,000 unaccompanied Cuban minors ages 6 to 18 to the United States over a two-year span from 1960 to 1962.
